What is The Cinnamon Spice Inn About?
The Cinnamon Spice Inn is a cozy small-town romance packed with autumn charm. Madison, a food critic living in New York City, is pulled back to her hometown of Maple Falls after receiving an anonymous letter urging her to help save her family’s inn. Since her mother’s passing, the inn has fallen into disrepair under the care of her father and grandmother. Determined to restore it to its former glory, Madison decides to close the inn for a few weeks, renovate, and reopen on Halloween.
But her plans take a turn when a storm knocks a tree into the inn, forcing her dad to call the town handyman — none other than Zach, her ex and childhood best friend. The storm also damages Zach’s own home, leaving him in need of a place to stay. The solution? He’ll live at the inn rent-free while helping Madison with the renovations.
With forced proximity, small-town meddling, and unresolved feelings, Madison and Zach can’t ignore the spark that never really went away. Still, old heartbreak lingers, and they must decide whether risking a second chance at love is worth it — or if some chapters are better left closed.

- Delicious seasonal treats — warm cinnamon rolls, homemade apple butter, and steaming drinks that will have you craving café runs and fall baking.
- Small-town charm — Maple Falls is filled with meddling neighbors, quirky locals, and that irresistible sense of community.
- Second-chance romance — Madison and Zach’s history makes their reunion feel tender, nostalgic, and full of spark.

- Feel-good storytelling — Harper Graham’s debut blends heartwarming family themes with a swoony romance that feels like a Hallmark movie in book form.
What I Wished There Was More Of
The Cinnamon Spice Inn leans heavily on the miscommunication trope, which isn’t one of my personal favorites. While I loved Madison and Zach’s chemistry, I often found myself wishing they would sit down and talk things through sooner instead of letting misunderstandings drag on. A bit more direct communication between them would have made their second-chance romance even stronger.
Final Thoughts
Reading The Cinnamon Spice Inn felt like the perfect way to welcome autumn — cozy, comforting, and just a little bit sweet. Between the mouth-watering seasonal treats, the small-town charm of Maple Falls, and the second-chance romance at its heart, Harper Graham’s debut novel captured everything I love about fall reading.
While the miscommunication trope wasn’t my favorite, the overall warmth of the story and Madison and Zach’s journey still made this a delightful read. If you’re looking for a romance to pair with your favorite seasonal latte and a soft blanket, The Cinnamon Spice Inn is the perfect pick for your fall TBR.
